Our Approach

Expectations

Expectation Management is absolutely required in working with your dog. Balancing the your goals while realistically looking at the dog in front of you and your lifestyle, and what is achievable plays a major role in you and your dog’s success.

Balanced

We believe in utilizing positive reinforcement as much as possible in training. However, we understand the value and utilization of training tools and a balanced approach required to work with dogs of all temperament and training levels in order to be successful.

Transparency

We don’t believe in sugar-coating. It is important to us that the owner, dog and trainer have a trustworthy and honest relationship. We ensure we will provide you with an honest assessment of your goals and your dog every time.

FAQs

  • My evaluations are essentially mini-lessons and provide owners with the ability to see the potential of their dog.

  • I try to be as organic as possible and observe your interactions with your dog:

    • Response to stranger at the door/entering home

    • Basic Obedience inside

    • Routine when leaving the house

    • How you walk your dog/what you walk your dog on

    • Basic Obedience outside the home

    • Reactions to people/other dogs

In the event it is known your dog is dog-reactive, I will have a demo dog with me to provide a controlled environment to see how you and your dog handle it

  • We continue training every dog that is in our care, regardless of whether they have had baseline training.

We provide dogs with the right mental and physical stimulation and structure needed for them to thrive.

  • We can guarantee your dog will be able to perform the outcomes for the selected and agreed upon program. We CANNOT guarantee your dog will continue to perform if you do not dedicate the required time and effort to continue training once they return home.

  • Yes! As long as your dog passes our evaluation and is crate trained, you can!

  • No. Some dogs will never LIKE other people and dogs, but we can help build their confidence and help them feel comfortable and confident, so that they THRIVE in different settings.

  • I am not a positive only trainer. I believe ruling out 90% of training options will not allow your dog to thrive and will not improve your relationship with your dog. While we strive to utilize as much positive reinforcement as possible, working our dogs through stressful/fearful situations will help them THRIVE in the long run.
